Paul W. Sorensen

Lead Pastor 

Paul is a cultivator of vision and leadership for collective mission with Christ. A native of Florida, Paul has lived in Chattanooga, Chicago and greater New York City. Originally trained as an investment banker, Paul has helped launch, lead and serve several faith-based charities and churches across North America. This work includes the recent establishment of The Mission Collective, a boutique nonprofit organization designed to plant citycentric hubs of mission and churches, beginning with The Holy City Collective and The Daniel Island Fellowship. He holds a B.A. in Business and Economics from Wheaton College and a M.Div. and M.A. in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Married for 20 years to Karly, they have two sons and a daughter, Kaden, Blaise and Saylor Grace. Paul is incredibly thankful to call Daniel Island his home, and he is committed to making The Daniel Island Fellowship an amazing and lasting community for Christ and His Kingdom. 


Jim and Cathy Amendolia

Pastoral Team For Care and Prayer

Jim and Cathy are wise and warm servant-leaders to individuals and families with Christ. Natives of Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, they have lived and served throughout the United States. A retired Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps and former V.P. in the commercial management sector, Jim holds a B.G.S. in History from George Washington University, a M.A. in Military Art and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, a M.B.A. from Webster University, a M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Phoenix Seminary. A faithful friend and partner in ministry with Jim, Cathy holds a M.A. in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Together they have served in the inner-city to the suburbs, with the young and to the old. High school sweethearts, they have been married for over 50 years and have three grown children, a son and two daughters. Jim and Cathy are graciously serving The Daniel Island Fellowship in a voluntary leadership capacity and delighted to help raise up future generations of servant-leaders in Christ.

Jerry and Lana McSwain

Pastoral Team for hope repair

Jerry and Lana’s vision is to awaken God’s people, equipping and unleashing God’s mission in the lives of everyday leaders through intentional discipleship. They are pioneers in missional discipleship and for the past 6 years have spent much of their time mentoring high capacity leaders across the US. Jerry’s childhood in North Carolina led him to North Carolina State University where he completed a Masters degree in the School of Forestry. He spent 20 years as a project manager with the federal government developing multiple federal, natural resource assets across the US. In 1999, he joined the staff of a large church in Charleston where he oversaw several ministries and significant growth for 14 years. Lana completed her education at Meredith College and after getting their two children settled in public schools, she resumed her career in public education, retiring in 2010. For the past 6 years, she has joined Jerry in their leadership initiatives working with high capacity leaders across multiple denominations. They have been married for 47 years and have two children and five well above average grandchildren.

Mollie Kurtz

DirectoR of DIF Kids and Events

Mollie is an enthusiastic encourager and disciple maker, passionate to see the church come alive on mission with Christ. A native of Northeast Ohio, Mollie has enjoyed varied experience in leadership and children’s education since a young age through camps, conferences, and teaching opportunities. A graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a B.A. in World Missions (Evangelism & Discipleship), Mollie has lived in Charleston since 2013. Mollie is honored to serve as the Director of Children’s Ministries at The Daniel Island Fellowship to help grow kids and families in their love of God and His Word.


Cody Quinn

pastor of Dif students and Connections

Cody is passionate about building lasting relationships with students and connecting them to Jesus. A native of Eastern North Carolina, Cody has served in many church volunteer roles as well as the Christian Life Director at a local Christian academy. Cody graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion and is ordained through the Acts 2 Network. Cody recently completed a Master’s degree in Christian Ministries: Pastoral Counseling. He married his beautiful bride, Kelsey, in June of 2017. Cody is passionate about cultivating a heart for Jesus within our students.


Tiffany Blauert

Director of Operations

Tiffany is passionate about designing systems and efficiencies that create space for more effective ministry. She was raised in Virginia and lived in both New Jersey and Ohio before relocating to Charleston in 2018. Prior to joining the team at Daniel Island Fellowship, Tiffany was the Director of Human Resources for NewPointe Community Church in Dover, OH. A graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, TN with a B.S. in Accounting, Tiffany has been working in nonprofit operations for the last eight years. Tiffany and her husband, Jonathan, enjoy golfing, watching soccer, traveling, and building community.


Courtney Oberly

DIf Kids Coordinator

Courtney is a Charleston native who, after graduating Clemson, moved to Chicago to complete a one-year dietetic internship at Loyola University Chicago. That one-year program turned into a decade long stint in the Windy City where Courtney worked for a variety of nutrition businesses, met her husband, Ryan, and had three children. At the end of 2015, God called Courtney and her family home to Charleston and they made their home on Daniel Island. Prior to joining staff at Daniel Island Fellowship she worked as a registered dietitian and then as a full time stay at home mom. She's passionate about raising children to love and trust Jesus and she loves teaching kids about the treasures found in Jesus.


Ali Huggins

DIf Students Coordinator

Alli is enthusiastic, idealistic, and aims to always leave people better than she found them. She loves traveling and learning about other cultures and languages, and has a passion for showing the love of Christ in action. Alli was raised in Mount Pleasant, and has been at Daniel Island Fellowship since 2016. She recently graduated from Charleston Southern University with degrees in Sociology and Psychology and a minor in Spanish, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Criminal Justice. Since a young age, Alli has wanted to work as an advocate in the justice system. She believes that no matter where you are in life, you can inject ministry into your work environment, and therefore hopes that having her first job out of college in vocational ministry will prepare her to bring Christ into all her future professional endeavors. Alli is ecstatic to serve as the Students Coordinator at Daniel Island Fellowship, and cannot wait to see and support what God has in store for the youth of this church community.
